Warning! this post might trigger your phobia. Because that is exactly what we are doing today. Turning phobias into makeup looks that you can wear on Halloween. Don’t worry if you’re not into gore looking stuff. You can check out Makeup inspired by Zodiac Signs. We’ve got you back this Halloween
1. Trypanophobia
Described to be the fear of needles. Use a bald cap and cover yourself with white body and face paint. Draw black tears using black eyeliner and the last thing to finish this look is DIY needle blindfold. Careful though, don’t hurt yourself in the process. This look is gender neutral so men can also wear it.
2. Entomophobia
It is the fear of snakes and insects but mostly just snakes. Fir this look you have to draw a snake wrapped on your face and pop in some colored contact lenses for the ultimate look. You can use either eye shadow or face paint for the drawing purpose. If you want something more fun and symbolic, you can go for Medusa, who is a gorgon demon with snakes in her hair. Medusa’s gaze can turn people into stone.
3. Trypophobia
The most widely acknowledged phobia, the fear of clustered holes. This looks disgusting and that is exactly the look we are going for. Use some makeup wax and poke some holes in it. Use black and white face paint to add dimension to the look.
4. Entomophobia
This is known as the fear of insects, all and every insect. Draw a bunch of insects in your face and use some makeup wax to make it look like they are crawling into your skin.
5. Phasmophobia
A very logical phobia if you ask me. The fear of ghosts, duh! Use white face paint and some grey eye shadow for the pale dead skin. Purple and brown to create bruises. Chappy White lips with a little black in the inner part. Draw some veins using blue and grey. Extra point if you can draw some tiny hand prints.
6. Pediophobia
This is the fear of dolls and inanimate objects. Go for a doll makeup look but if you feel a little more spicy, draw some cracks to look broken. Some people might even want to choose Hollywood‘s favorite haunted doll, Annabelle.
7. Kyrofelonoshophobia
This phobia is a little funny, no offence. It’s the fear of cartoon characters. For this look we will take any character, for example Mickey Mouse, and make it look creepy. Disney has so many naturally creepy characters already like witches and evil step mother.
8. Arachnophobia
The fear of spiders, easy to achieve makeup look. Just draw some spiders and look evil by concealing your eyebrows and painting your lips black. Colored contact lenses would also help.
9. Coulrophobia
The fear of clown. You can either go for a simple clown makeup or a demonic one. Both will work.
10. Serenephobia
Fear of mermaids, kind of irrational but who am I to judge. Go for a mermaid look but make it evil by using dark colors and demonic lenses. Dripping black liquid will also be great.
11. Nyctophobia
Very common among people, fear of dark. This makeup can work well for your last minuet decision. Very easy and creepy as well. Just look pale and use some concealer on your lips. Make dusty crusty. Draw some cracks around your eyes and pop in some black contact lese.
12. Ablutophobia
This one is weird but no judgement. The fear of bathing or washing. The makeup is very simple though. Put on some glamorous makeup and smudge it around. Stand under the shower for a second to looked a little… ashed out. That’s it.
13. Glossophobia
Honestly, me. Use some makeup wax over your mouth to seal it shut. Next, cover yourself with white face paint and use some black eye shadow for dark eyes. Use some more eye shadow to draw the veins.
14. Somniphobia
The extreme fear of sleep. Make your skin look pale and draw some stretched out waterline under your actual waterline. Glue a pair of cotton buds to make it look like you are trying your best to avoid sleep. Also, don’t forget to give yourself pale chappy lip.
15. Gerascophobia
The fear of getting old. Use some glue and eye shadow to create wrinkles on your face. Ashy makeup and white eyebrows will finish the look.
16. Thalassophobia
The fear of deep water bodies. This is such an interesting makeup look. Use prosthetic makeup to create starfishes and algae on your face. Paint yourself ashy white to look like a drowned dead body. Add the cherry on top with the contact lenses.
17. Claustrophobia
Fear of closed spaces. talking of closed, close shit your lips using makeup wax. Create bruises and cuts, just try and look as miserable as you can. That is the goal.
17. Mycophobia
I love mushrooms but some people don’t. This is the fear of fungus, any and every kind included. This look requires a little skill. Use face wax and prosthetic to have those mushrooms growing out of your face. Make some moss like textures using wax and green eye shadow or face paint.
18. Scotomaphobia
The fear of blindness. This look can go two ways. Either you can make lips over your eyes using face wax and prosthetic. Or you can just conceal your eyes using face wax and call it a day.
